Bueil-en-Touraine
The size of the church of Bueil-en-Touraine is rather surprising for such a small village. In fact, there are two curiously adjacent edifices. The imposing square tower and the two gables belong to the parish church dedicated to Saint-Peter-in-Chains, built between 1480 and 1512. The nave, surmounted by a smal steeple is that of the collegiate church dedicated to St. Michael and St. Innocents erected almost a century earlier.













In recesss in the south walls (13-12) are a series of marble monuments among which those of Jeanne de Montajean (above) and Pierre Bueil (below)


On the north wall, wall paintings have been concealed by a coating of whitewash or plaster. Recent "probing windows" (10-11) have revealed interesting fragments (10-11)
