La Flèche

Église Saint-ThomasSarthe (72)

Originally a priory founded in 1109, it soon became a parish church. The only parts that date back to the 12th century are the base of the tower and part of the axial apse. The church was practically rebuilt in the 19th century.

Notre-Dame du Chef-du-Pont (14th century)

Saved and hidden by a woman parishioner during the Revolution,

it was originally in the chapel erected near the bridge

spanning the river Loir - hence its name.

PRIEURE SAINT-ANDRE

Founded in 1171 thanks to a donation made by Henry II Plantagenet. The priory depended on the abbey of Saint-Mesmin in Orléans. It was used as a farm after the Revolution but the church is still standing and has just been restored.
