Eglise Saint-Paul et Saint-Pierre

En 1993, des peintures murales ont été mises à jour au cours de travaux de restauration. Elles décorent une partie du mur nord de la nef et représentent une scène des croisades. D'après l'équipement des chevaliers, ces peintures datent de la fin du XIIème siècle ou du début du XIIIème. Les couleurs utilisées sont le bleu-gris, le blanc, le bistre, le marron clair, le rouge, le jaune et le noir.

In 1993, wall paintings were uncovered during restoration work. They cover part of the north wall of the nave and represent a crusade scene. Judging from the military equipment of the knights, the paintings date to the late 12th or early 13th centuries. The colours used are: greyish blue, white, yellowish brown, light brown, red, yellow and black.

Le premier cavalier est un chevalier chargeant, lance baissée. Son cheval est caparaçonné d'un riche tissu armorié. Il porte un long bouclier armorié en amande caractéristique du XIIème siècle.

The first horseman is a charging knight, his spear lowered. His horse is caparisoned with a rich material. He is carrying an almond-shaped shield with his coat of arms, which is typical of the 12th century

Un cavalier sarrazin (à gauche) est désarçonné par un chevalier franc. Le cheval du Sarrazin n'est pas caparçonné mais simplement protégépar un tapis jaune. La tunique du cavalier est en mailles et sa lance portant un gonfanon est brisée. Le cavalier franc dont la lance est terminée par un grand gonfanon vient de désarçonner son adversaire. Un arbuste sépare les deux cavaliers.

A Saracen horseman (left) is thrown by a Frankish knight. The Saracen's horse is not caparisoned but only protected by a yellow saddle cloth. The horseman's tunic is of mail and his spear, with a long streamer, is broken. The Frankish knight, whose spear ends with a large streamer, has just thrown his adversary. A bush separates the two horsemen.
