Château de Pimpéan (Grézillé)
CHATEAU DE PIMPEAN: CHAPEL
A friend of King René d'Anjou, Bertrand de Beauveau, decided to have the château and its chapel built in the 15th century. The buildings underwent alterations until the 18th century. The vast edifice, gradually restored by its new owners since 1993, is surrounded by more than 3 hectares of vineyards and dominates the village of Grézillé.
The mural paintings of the chapel, date back to the 15th century and decorate the vaults of the two bays. They are in a fairly good state of repair and illustrate two themes: the Passion Angels and the Life of the Virgin.
