Built in the 12thcentury on a site where pilgrims cam to pray saint Hilaire in the 4thcentury. The chancel has a fine Plantagenet vault. Interesting south portal dating back to the end of the Romanesque period

Oizé, Église Saint-Hilaire

Burial of Saint Hilaire: the saint is carried into his tomb by monks and bishops, among whom St Martin. At the centre, above the sarcophagus, two angels are taking the soul of the saint to the celestial Jerusalem, which looks like the fortified town of nearby Le Mans
