Église Sainte-AnneCalvados (14) · commune of Norrey-en-Auge

The church dedicated to Saint Anne datesback to the 11th, 12th and 13th centuries. The nave, the tower and transept are Romanesque. The chancel was erected in the 13th century and the wall paintings, discovered under the limewash in the 1920s, were executed in the 13th and 14th centuries.

THE WALL PAINTINGS (13th and 14th centuries):

Apart from the scene representing the Virgin offering her Child to the adoration of the Magi, on the north wall, the paintings are in a poor state of repair and hardly legible.
