The site of Forges-la-Veauvieille, from the Latin "Valle veteri", was sold to the monastery of Aubepierre in 1184. The Chapelle des Forges, dedicated to St. Giles, was erected at that time.

Mystic rose

he paintings, often in medallions, are very similar to those of Notre-Dame-desVertus at La Flèche, which date from the early 17th century. They represent various objects, buildings or characters.
