EGLISE SAINT-SULPICE

The church dedicated to Saint Sulpice is the chapel of a former Benedictine priory founde in the 13th century. The wall paintings, discovered in 1987 and restored in 1995, date to the 14th century.

According to the Apocryphal Gospels, Christ descended into Limbo, where the souls of the Righteous were waiting for Him to release them and led them into Heaven. As in this scene, he is often represented taking Adam and Eve by the hand.
