The nave and the tower with its saddle-roof date back to the early 11th century. The arch covering the Romanesque windows is a single block of stone cut into a semicircular shape, on which false arch-stones have been engraved (a technique used in the early 11th century). The two chapels were added in the 16th century.
Saint-John-the-Baptist's head being served at Herod's table
A fine reredos adorns the altar of the south chapel. The retable of Saint-John-the-Baptist's chapel (north), depicts the Decollation of the Baptist very realistically. The saint's head is shown being served at Herod's table (bas-relief).
MURAL PAINTINGS:
1) reverse of the western façade (13th century)
