Vendôme
Founded around 1032 by Geoffroy Martel, count of Anjou and his wife Agnès de Bourgogne. The present edifice is composed of a bell-tower erected in the early 11thcentury, a nave rebuilt in the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries, a transept dating back to the 11th century and a choir with its deambulatory opening on to five radiating chapels dating back to the 13th century.

THE WALL PAINTINGS
They date to the arly 12th century and were executed a fresco, which explains the vividness of the colours and touch-ups
The Miraculous Draught of Fishes. After His resurrection, Christ appeared to the Apostles, who were fishing. From the shore, he told them to throw the net to the right of the boat. The net immediately filled with fish and was so heavy that the Apostles could hardly lift it. Peter, recognizing Christ, hurries towards him walking on the water
